The foundation for Mitsubishi Logistics was laid in 1887 with the establishment of The Tokyo Warehouse Company. With a strong focus on warehousing activities, the company grew to be one of the leaders in the Japanese logistics market. Today, there are over 800,000 sqm in storage space operated by MLC.
The step into the international logistics field began with opening branches and delegation offices in the USA, Asia and Europe. For Europe a delegation office in Duesseldorf was opened in 1973. The international seafreight and airfreight activities were managed by employing strong and reputable agents in Europe.
A first own, operational step was in 1995 with the opening of the Rotterdam office. The seafreight office Hamburg followed in 2001. 2003 marked the start of own airfreight operations in Frankfurt. The Milano branch began operating in 2007.
Though for a relatively young company, MLE achieved in many respects very strong market positions. This especially for the trade with Japan. Due to the expansion in other areas of the world, we aim to achieve a similar position for crosstrade lanes.
